Shudder: Horror & Thrillers v APK + MOD (Premium Unlocked/VIP/PRO)

Phillip Grubb: Shudder seemed like a pretty good app. Great selection. Good user interface. But then I tried to get it myself, after watching it with my buddy. And I can’t use it. Started an account, and everytime I try to watch something, it tells me to subscribe. Even though I am already subscribed. Deeply frustrating, and after reading all the other reviews for the technical problems. I have just decided to cancel the free trial and give up trying to watch.

Rich Watters: Update 10/21 no longer works with Chromecast. Shudder is now useless to me since I don’t own a computer. Will cancel my subscription if this isn’t fixed quickly* Impressed by the selection. Especially excited by the curated selections and the very specific subcategories. As for the app, it works ok. The resume feature is buggy. When you go back to finish something it often starts over and in the case of a series, it’s usually asking if you want to resume whatever you finished two episodes ago.

Gregory Martz: I love this service, but unfortunately it has stopped working properly for me. And customer service couldn’t help me. I’ve never experienced an app on Android or IOS have this basic issue before. In the past, the service worked fine. I don’t understand what’s going on on their end and why they are ignoring to help me. It’s very awful. Problem: all streaming is audio only, but trailers actually show both video and audio.

Christina Lancaster: For now, a 1 star rating! Tonight, I signed up via the desktop version for the 1 year with the 7 day free trial. When I found something to watch I was prompted to download the app so I can cast to my tv. The app had me sign in and when I did, it gave me an “invalid username or password” error. So I did a password reset. I followed the link that was sent to my email to change my password and it gave me an “invalid code” error. I have had no success and now I can’t log in at all!

Kevin Nault: The service itself I’d give four stars – there are a smaller number of movies and shows, given the narrow focus, but their selection is good and covers many kinds of horror. Why two stars, then? The app is, quite frankly, bad. It doesn’t register as a media player, so Bluetooth controls don’t work to play/pause, and it can’t do picture-in-picture, which means you can’t just swap screens to send a text or check something. What’s worse is that it loses its login token at the drop of a hat. Video will keep playing when it loses your login, but when you switch away and then back, or if you have to pause, first the app says it can’t contact the service. Once you quit it and relaunch, it’s over that, but the video you’re trying to resume may start over, or may start at some random point – 30 seconds before you paused, or 30 minutes, there’s no telling. The constant hunting around for my place and lack of support of media features means I’ll probably cancel my subscription through the app and see if signing up through Amazon works any better.

Justin Hayes: The content is ok on the app, but any time I try to watch ANYTHING, I get about 15 minutes in and the screen freezes while the sound still plays in the background. Sometimes instead of doing the latter, it buffers until you back out and try to start the movie again….just to do the same thing again!!! This needs to be fixed!! If this were fixed I would pay for a yearly subscription!! But until then no thank you.

A Google user: I LOVE the shudder channel! It has tons of great and obscure horror titles…but when it comes to the app, it’s subpar. It seems dated, and isn’t very user friendly. The app is not capable of handling any account issues, and when you review a movie, there’s no way to edit your review…that’s just dumb. Sometimes people hit send by accident, or wanna revise it. But nope not on this app…also kinda wish it had trailers. It could be so much better.

A Google user: LOVE Shudder! Great selection of horror movies (much better than Netflix/Hulu). I like that you can leave reviews for movies. The app works well for the most part, there’s just a couple of minor issues. It would be great if hitting the back button would take you back to where you were in the list of titles, rather than having to scroll back down to where you were. A “next episode” button would be cool as well. But overall I would definitely recommend Shudder!

A Google user: At this very moment in time, it is within my 7 day trial. I want to cancel with a refund as the selection of horror movies are better on Netflix. There are too many foreign movies on this service. I cannot follow movies with subtitles. When the clock hits midnight, my trial period is over. This app only allows me to cancel my 1 year subscription. HELP!

A Google user: I love the selection offered, and the quality is good on my laptop, but the phone app is buggy. About every 30 seconds to a minute it has to stop and buffer for roughly 15 seconds. I reached out to support and followed all of the recommended steps, but to no avail. Still, LOVE the service, but the android app definitely needs an update.
